What are your hours of operation?

We are open Monday and Wednesday from 10:30AM-12:15PM, with occasional additional hours listed on our homepage. While we are closed on all other days of the week for team training, food replenishment, and warehouse maintenance, our online reservation system is always available. During major holidays, we may adjust our hours, which we will announce on our website and social media channels. For inclement weather, DCFC follows Denton ISD closures and delays.

Do I have to have an appointment to get food?

Yes, we operate by appointment only, and we recommend that accounts be made 3-5 days before your preferred appointment day to allow time for your application to be reviewed. Once you are approved through PantrySoft, appointments can be made at your convenience. You can easily book through our website. Please do NOT come more than 15 minutes before your set appointment time. This is to prevent crowding in our humble lobby.

How do I make an appointment?

We use PantrySoft to make appointments for food distribution. You can use a computer, tablet, or smart phone to sign up and log on! To make an appointment:1. Visit PantrySoft ​​2. Click the orange "Sign Up" button.​​3. Enter your First and Last Name and your email address, then choose a username and password. Consider writing these down somewhere safe for later reference. When you're done, click "Sign Up" again. This should send you back to the main login page.​​4. Enter your username and password, then click "Login" This will take you to your Account Registration page. Input all the required information, including ID and demographic info for all the members of your household, and be sure to sign the form at the very bottom of the screen - it's okay if it's messy! Then click "Save and Continue"​​5. You will then be taken to the Appointment Schedule. You will not see any available appointments until you have received a determination email from the Food Center. It can take up to 5 business days to review your application, so keep an eye on your inbox and spam folder.​6. Once you receive approval for your account, you will login to PantrySoft again, then select an available appointment from the calendar. If you have any difficulties, please reach out to one of our volunteers for help.​7. When you arrive for your first appointment, please bring IDs for all members of your household, and a valid Proof of Address. Digital copies are okay!

What do I do if I have dietary restrictions?

When you arrive, you will receive a shopping sheet with the foods that we currently have available. Please tell the volunteer who is serving you if you have any concerns - such as if anyone in your house is vegetarian - and we will do our best to provide. Because we rely heavily on food donations, we may not be able to provide appropriate substitutions.

Do you offer delivery services?

No, we do not deliver food to recipients' homes. Denton Community Food Center is a pick-up location. Check our Resources for other organizations that may be able to help.

Question 6

Does DCFC provide food for pets?

Accepted Answer

We do! Simply check dog and/or cat food on the shopping sheet you are provided, and our volunteers will make sure you receive pet food.

Question 7

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

We understand that plans can change! As soon as you know that you will not make your appointment, please cancel or reschedule through PantrySoft. You may also call the food center, but due to high call volume canceling through PantrySoft is preferred. Since we are only able to provide one appointment per month, canceling enables you to reschedule for another time, and allows someone else to reserve the opened appointment time.

Can I host a food drive for DCFC?

Absolutely! If you would like to host a food drive benefiting DCFC please contact us at info@dentoncfc.org with your name, phone number, the name of your organization, and the proposed date of your event!
