Our mission started in 1974, when motivated community members ran food pantries from 10 different area churches. In the 50+ years since, Denton Community Food Center has grown into a warehouse-sized emergency food pantry, feeding hundreds of families each month. Board and Volunteer run, DCFC operates every Monday and Wednesday, providing approximately 100 pounds of groceries per month to each family we serve. This amounts to about a week's worth of groceries per family.

 

We believe that safe and nutritious food is necessary for everyone's health and well-being and we are committed to providing that necessary food to the members of the Northern Denton community who are struggling with food insecurity. Due to both population increases across Denton County and the affordability crisis that continues to challenge individuals and families, we continue to see increased appointments weekly.
