The Food Center received a wonderful donation as part of a secret Santa gift by James Greycheck to his sister-in-law, Carolyn McGannon. What a great family!

Evan and Cathy Wenger made a wonderful donation to the Food Center in honor of Mary Hummel and Tom Kokotan. They also sent us a wonderful Christmas card that we put on our bulletin board for all the volunteers to enjoy!

Southwire

Look at what you’ve given to our community….

$6,500 isn’t just a number. It is generosity. It is compassion. It is the ability to purchase $45,500 worth of food for families struggling with food insecurity in Denton County. It is the equivalent of 253,000 meals!

Southwire has generously donated an amazing amount of purchase power to the Denton Community Food Center out of their interest in our local community. This donation was unsolicited – completely unexpected. As the current pandemic continues, more and more families are stretched, having to make choices between food and other basic needs. Southwire has made a commitment to the community and to the Food Center.

Thank you for teaming with us to improve the lives of our neighbors.

Here we mention all those who have supported or contributed to the Food Center to remember family or friends,

Recently two of our long-term volunteers, Mark and Joylene Young lost their son Lyle, instead of flowers or other remembrances they requested anyone wanting to remember Lyle could donate to the Food Center. Significantly, many of their and Lyle's friends did just that. To date these people have made wonderful donations to the Food Center: Scott Smith, Brian Young, Kathie Shaffer, Craig & Leann Lemmons, Quinn Carroll, Paula McClelland, Annette Petersen, Summer Davidson, Susan Lura, Bruce Charles Luedke and Michael Jones.

We remember with much love Suzy Holt, our Vounteer Coordinator. Suzy died suddenly December 7th.
